Casual New Year's Eve Outfit

Mossimo Open Cardigan (on sale for $16!), Tank-Express (similar Jones New York Sequin Tank), Old  Navy Rockstar Jeans, Pumps-c/o Andres Machado, Clutch-Target (similar Style & Co Clutch)

Tonight we're going bowling since we wanted to do something fun that wasn't crazy expensive. Normally we stay in and feast on appetizers, but figured we'd try something different this year. But if I was doing something a little fancier for NYE, I'd wear this. I paired a black sequin tank (sparkle is a must!) with an open cardigan with jeans and wine colored pumps. Since I'll be trading in the pumps, for bowling shoes, I'll be wearing something more casual. I hope I can actually stay up to watch the ball drop after getting up early this morning for work!

What are your NYE plans?

Christmas Recap

Shirt-Aeropostale Boys (similar Old Navy Buffalo Plaid Shirt), Scarf-Scarves.net (similar Charlotte Russe Knit Infinity Scarf on sale for $5.49!), Old Navy Rockstar Jeans, Booties-Target (similar ModCloth Booties)

I wore my buffalo plaid shirt (yes, again!) with a knit scarf and booties for Christmas. The day was unseasonably warm for the holiday, with temps in the low 50s! Normally I'm all bundled up. We started the day off with cinnamon rolls for breakfast, as we do every year.

After dinner, we watched Guardians of the Galaxy. If you haven't seen it yet, it was really funny and cute. I'm excited that they already have a sequel in the works. During the movie, we gorged ourselves on Chocolate Peppermint Fudge that I made. It was super easy to make with just semi sweet chocolate chips, a can of condensed milk, and crushed peppermint candies.

Holiday Outfit

Sweater-Forever 21(similar The Limited Sweater), Vest-Mossimo (similar Charter Club Houndstooth Vest), Scarf-Forever 21 (similar Polo Ralph Lauren Plaid Scarf), Old Navy Rockstar Jeans, Boots-Nordstrom (similar Steve Madden Intyce Boots), Bracelet-Sassy Steals (original Stella & Dot Renegade Cluster Bracelet)

If you still need to figure out what to wear tomorrow, here's a little inspiration. I paired a green sweater with my tweed vest and a plaid scarf for something that's festive without being too over the top. I'll be spending the holiday with my hubby's family. Luckily we just have to go down the block...no sitting in traffic or an airport for me! I'm taking a break from the blog for the rest of the week so I'll be back with a new post on Monday.

Merry Christmas!

Evian Facial Spray

I received a bottle of Evian Facial Spray for review (15 oz bottle, retails for $12.00). I was a bit skeptical about it, since it's basically Evian water in a can. But now that I tried it for myself, I can see what the hype is about! I used it prior to applying moisturizer as part of my usual routine. The spray comes out in a very fine mist and it was actually very refreshing. In the winter my skin gets very dry and this is great for re-hydrating. I'm thinking the spray would also feel wonderful on a hot summer day to instantly cool off. It can also be sprayed over makeup to give it a more natural look (just hold spray further away from your face). Or it can also be used to refresh makeup throughout the day.

Please Note: I received a complimentary Evian Facial Spray for review from BrandBacker. However, the opinions expressed are solely mine.

Faux Fur + Nordstrom Giveaway!

Mossimo Ultasoft V Neck Sweater, Vest-c/o Sammydress (similar Forever 21 Faux Fur Vest), Necklace-InPink, Pants-H&M Kids, Boots-Naturalizer (similar Charlotte Russe Flat Boots)

On Saturday night we went to a Christmas lights show, which is now the third year in a row that we've gone to it. It's always awesome complete with pyrotechnics and a "food court" (hot dogs, roasted corn, and hot chocolate. They also raise money for a childrens' charity during the show. It was in the low 30s so I had to wear a ton of layers (see my Instagram for a photo). It's a fun night that puts me in the holiday spirit.

Now, I want to introduce you to a fellow petite blogger, Merrie from Petite Career Girl!

I'm Merrie, a technology professional with a petite build and a wardrobe that's 90% office – I do spend 90% of my time at work, after all!  This blog is a place where I share my trials and triumphs in finding clothes that suit my budget and flatter my figure.
Like many other women, I've often been frustrated trying to find clothes that suit my petite height and moderate frame, because many garments seem to be cut for taller, narrower women.  But when you look at the shapes and sizes of American women, the average body is 5'4” tall and between sizes 8 and 16 – not exactly what you see in fashion magazines! When I'm not writing for the blog or rocking my looks at work, I can usually be found reading, dining out with friends, shopping at farmers' markets, or heading off to Zumba.  I'm also a rescue mom to two snuggly kitties, and reducing the number of stray cats is a passion for me – much like encouraging people not to fear tailoring!

Eating Pants

Cardigan-Target Girls (similar White House Black Market Leopard Cardigan), Tee-Gap (similar JCrew Striped Tee), Necklace-Forever 21 (similar Forever 21 Filigree Heart Pendant for $4.80), similar H&M Leggings for $9.95, Boots-Nordstorm (similar Steve Madden Intyce Boots)

We're at that point in the year where leggings are a must. Last week the hospital served it's employee holiday lunch where I stuffed myself with cheesecake pops and mini eclairs. This was followed by a 4 course work dinner (unrelated to the holidays) with filet mignon. This week we have our office holiday dinner. It's nothing but a lot of eating from here until the New Year. Hence the leggings aka eating pants!

This buffalo plaid shirt has turned out to be one of my most versatile pieces. I've worn it with a bow print cardigan and a camel cape sweater. Today I'm pairing it with a striped open cardigan. The plaid just mixes so well with other prints/patterns! I've also worn it a ton more than you've even seen on the blog. Definitely my favorite purchase this season. If you're looking to add another plaid shirt to your wardrobe, you can't go wrong with buffalo plaid.

Old Factory Candles Review + Giveaway!

I received a set of Old Factory Candles for review. Their candles are handmade in the USA and each burn for 20 hours. They have a variety of different scents available including Winter Wonderland, Coffee Shop, and Fall Harvest, to name a few. It was a hard choice, but I decided to get the Happy Holidays Set which contains Christmas Tree, Candy Cane, and Gingerbread candles. The scents compliment each other nicely and they suggest burning two at a time for a larger room. These candles smell amazing and put me right in the holiday spirit!

Old Factory Candles is giving away a candle set of their choice to one lucky reader!

Faux Fur Snood

Sweater-Forever 21 (similar H&M Cable Knit Sweater), Snood-Asos (similar River Island Faux Fur Snood), Pants-H&M Kids, Boots-Chinese Laundry (similar Chinese Laundry South Bay Boots), Bag-Botkier

I originally wanted to wear this outfit with a grey sweater. But when I opened up my dresser, it was nowhere to be found. I wound up tearing apart my bedroom looking for the sweater since it was driving me absolutely nuts that I couldn't find it. I still haven't found the sweater, so I had to settle for a cream cable knit sweater instead. I paired it with my faux fur snood which is a must on freezing cold days! It's the next best thing to cuddling with a dog.
