Mix It Mondays: JCrew Factory Jeweled Sweatshirt

JCrew Factory Jeweled Sweatshirt, Shorts-American Eagle, Sandals-Zara Girls, Bag-Coach

The weather was absolutely beautiful this weekend and I had another chance to bust out my summer clothes. It was warm enough to sit on the beach on Sunday which felt amazing! I soaked up as much sun as I could, not knowing if this would be my last beach day till next summer.

For Mix It Mondays, I'm remixing my JCrew Factory jeweled top. The last time I wore this top I styled it for work with black pants and flats. I decided to remix it for the weekend by pairing it with a pair of denim shorts and silver sandals.

Billion Dollar Brows Best Sellers Kit Review

Today I'm reviewing the Billion Dollar Brows Best Sellers Kit, sold exclusively at Kohl's (retails for $34.99, valued at $68). It contains:

Billion Dollar Brows Brow Gel, Universal Brow Pencil, Brow Duo Pencil, and Smudge Brush.

I first plucked my eyebrows and then applied the Brow Gel to keep my brows in place. The kit says to use the pencil first, but I found that it gets the brow gel wand dirty. The Brow Pencil is a medium brow shade that is supposed to work on all hair colors and skin tones. For my brown eyebrows, this pencil was the perfect shade. It applied smoothly. I normally use powder on my brows, so it took a little adjusting to using pencil insead. It also has a spoolie brush on the other side which helps blend in the pencil and grooms the brows. Lastly, I applied the Brow Duo Pencil, which is a highlighter on one side and a concealer on the other. The Smudge Brush is used to apply and blend this creamy pencil.

Final Thoughts: This is the perfect little brow kit that contains everything you need for brows (minus a tweezer!). My brows looked well groomed and more polished after using this kit. It is a great value for the price as well considering it costs double the price if you bought everything separately.

Blogger Meetup

Blouse-Old Navy (similar Lucky Brand Sleeveless Chambray Blouse), Jeans-H&M (similar Old Navy Rockstar Jeans for $12.99), Flats-KensieGirl, Bracelet-Sassy Steals (original Stella & Dot Renegade Cluster Bracelet), Watch-Fossil

On Saturday I went into the city for a blogger meetup. Even though I had already met almost all the girls before, I still stressed about my outfit! I decided to wear my trusty chambray shirt with a statement necklace and white jeans.

The bloggers at the meetup were Monica, Sara, Alex, Mel, Yvonne, and Simone. After a little delay thanks to the German parade going down 5th Ave, we had a little picnic in Central Park. Shortly after we sat down, we were serenaded by a group of guys in speedos that were raising money for their water polo team. They sang "Teenage Dream" off key but it was hilarious. (Check my Instagram to see a photo). We also spotted numerous brides/grooms/bridal parties and even one quinceanera. There's no better spot for people watching than in the park!

Attack of the Moths

Shirt-A&F (similar Guess Plaid Shirt), Shorts-Target (similar Forever 21 Lace Shorts), Necklace-Eliza Jay Charm (similar Acrylic Monogram Necklace), Converse Chuck Taylor Sneakers, Bag-H&M (similar Forever 21 Satchel)

This past week I noticed that there was a moth flying around every night. I didn't think much of it, until I poured a bowl of Cheerios on Sunday for breakfast and discovered a moth in there. Yuck. Not my idea of Sunday Funday! I realized I must have pantry moths. I kinda hoped having dogs would keep away bugs, but I guess that only applies to other creatures (Oliver's beagle side means he's a hunting dog).

Thankfully there's not millions in there, but I had to throw out almost everything in there and clean the shelves. Whomp whomp. After getting new food at the grocery store, everything is now in airtight containers and/or ziploc baggies. I'm storing the cereal outside of the pantry just in case. If anyone has any tips for me, please let me know!

Look What I Got Link Up: JCrew Bow Cardigan

Cardigan-JCrew via Poshmark, Tee-Forever 21 (similar Joe Fresh Striped Tee), Old Navy Jeans, Bag-H&M, Flats-Target

I was so excited that I found this JCrew Sequin Bow Cardigan, in my size, on Poshmark! I saw a bunch of bloggers wear it last fall/winter and was envious. It's no longer available at JCrew so I couldn't believe I found it on Poshmark on the cheap. It was listed for $25, but I bargained with the seller and got down to $20. Thanks to a credit I had, I paid just under $16, including shipping!

Work Dinner

Jacket-Gap Outlet (similar Alloy Tweed Jacket), Blouse-Forever 21 (similar White House Black Market Bow Blouse), Pants-H&M Kids, Clutch-Vintage, Flats-Gap Kids

Last Wednesday I had a dinner meeting for work to attend. Our office is very casual, but for the dinner I knew I needed to wear something dressier and professional. I decided to wear my tweed jacket that I purchased a bunch of years ago from the Gap outlet. It's a classic piece that I will be able to wear for years to come. I paired it with a sheer black bow blouse and black pants to keep the look toned down. The dinner was delicious...they served us a four course meal and I was stuffed when I walked out. I wish I could've Instagrammed it!

Mix It Mondays: Neon Lace Sweatshirt

Jacket-Target (similar Old Navy Faux Leather Jacket), Sweatshirt-Target (similar JCPenney Neon Sweatshirt for $18), Old Navy Jeans, Flats-Gap Kids (similar Sam & Libby Bow Flats)

I wore this outfit on the weekend for a casual date at a taco/burrito place. It was a little chilly that night so I reached for my faux leather jacket, layered over a neon sweatshirt. I'm a bit sad that it's already getting to be jacket weather! But I do have to admit that I'm getting a little sick of my summer wardrobe so it's nice to be able to wear other things in my wardrobe that haven't been worn in months.

For Mix It Mondays, I'm remixing my neon lace sweatshirt. I last wore it in the spring with a mint necklace and booties. The sweatshirt is lightweight which makes it easy to wear in more than one season.

Look What I Got: Old Navy Rockstar Denim

Top-Aeropostale (similar Dolce Vita Lace Top), Old Navy Rockstar Jeans, Pearl Necklace-Vintage, Silver Necklace-Forever 21, Pumps-c/o Oasap (similar Madden Girl Nude Pumps for $39), Clutch-Target (similar Style & Co Clutch)

I spent my Labor Day at the mall, checking out all the sales. When I was in Old Navy, I found these ripped skinny jeans on the clearance rack for just $16. I'm a huge fan of Old Navy's Rockstar denim...I have a bunch of pairs in different colors and washes. The skinny fit is just right and they aren't incredibly long for a petite girl like me (mine are rolled up a bit if you're wondering). I realized I didn't have any distressed skinny jeans in my closet so I scooped these right up!
