Taste of Spring

Cardigan-Forever 21 (similar JCPenney Cardigan), Old Navy White Tee, Scarf-American Eagle (similar Forever 21 Scarf for $9.80), Old Navy Jeans, Bag-Target (similar Kensie Crossbody Bag), Booties-Target (similar Crown Vintage Booties)

I wore this outfit on Saturday when it was a beautiful 60 degrees and sunny! Naturally, I had to break out the bright colors for the Spring like day with my yellow cardigan and floral scarf. I'm now back to wearing my parka while some snow showers move through. The weather this week has been crazier than an Alec Baldwin rant. It was a total tease having such nice weather, but at least now I'm hopeful Spring will get here eventually.

Q&A: Tiffany of Style Honestly

I did a Q&A with Tiffany of Style Honestly. I am envious of her thrifting skills and I really love her thoughts on beauty and imperfections. I hope you enjoy getting to know her better!

1. Describe your style!

Whenever people ask me this, I sort of freeze because I have so many different types of styles that I enjoy. I'm some kind of random mix of boho, vintage, and romantic - I suppose that would mean my style is eclectic, haha.

I ask this question to you and your readers: If you were on my blog going through outfits, how would you categorize my style? I'm curious!

2. You encourage readers to embrace our imperfections. Tell us a little bit about how your self acceptance came about.

Throughout my youth (gosh I must be getting old) I struggled with believing that I was beautiful and beat myself up trying to change things about myself. I became pretty much self-destructive and unhealthy, always trying to be something else. I always had an air of confidence but it was fake. I hated who I was. Through prayer and moral support, I was finally able to accept myself - flaws and all. I learned that imperfection is beauty and wanted to make sure other women knew it too.

3. What is your favorite part about blogging?

Connecting with people you would not have otherwise come in contact with. Through, commenting, reading, sponsoring, and following, I have met some really cool people. You get to develop relationships with these amazing and like-minded individuals. It's pretty freakin' awesome!

4. You are amazing at thrifting! What are some of your tips for newbie thrifters?

If you are new at thrifting, you should prepare yourself to be patient. It takes time to go through a thrift store and to develop an "eye". You have to go often since merchandise is constantly replenished, be open minded, and dress comfortably. It is a good idea to take a thrifty friend - or even a regular friend with you. It will be less daunting and you can offer each other advice. I would start with something easy, like dresses. There is usually a plethora of vintage finds and they are easier to got through.

Pretty soon, you'll be able to whiz through the thrift store selecting all kinds of amazing things!

5. Which Spring trend are you looking forward to wearing?

I'm excited about the tea length skirt making an appearance on the runway! We all know midi and maxi, but that in between gives makes me imagine what it would be like in the 40's and 50's where those gorgeous skirts were everyday wear!

6. What's your go-to outfit? (aka what you put on when you can't think of what to wear)?

If I am having trouble getting dressed, I usually through on skinny jeans/pants, a button down, and some sort of vest. It is classic layering and you typically cannot go wrong with it!

Mix It Mondays: Leopard Skirt

Mossimo V Neck Sweater, Necklace-Ebay (similar BaubleBar Lariat Pendant), Skirt-Target (similar Forever 21 Leopard Skirt for $8.80!), Bag-Forever Tiff Couture (similar Steve Madden Bcharlee Bag), Boots-Nordstorm (similar Steve Madden Intyce Boots)

I wore this outfit to work last week when it finally warmed up. It felt so nice to be able to wear a skirt again without having to freeze! I'm remixing my Target leopard skirt today for Mix It Mondays. I scored it a while ago on the clearance rack for just 10 bucks. Since leopard is the new neutral, this skirt has proven to be a piece that goes well with so many things. Here's how I've also worn it:

Zooey Deschanel's New Girl Outfit

It might be February, but I've got Spring on the brain! It's been warmer the last few days which is making me crave Spring outfits. I'm feeling inspired by Zooey Deschanel's New Girl character, Jessica Day. Her signature style is quirky printed dresses, bow belts, and flats. I wanted to recreate this adorable sunny yellow look which just screams Springtime!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Stripes + Plaid Pattern Mixing

Tee-Gap (similar Joe Fresh Striped Tee for $6.99), Pearls-Vintage, Shirt-American Eagle (similar Chaps Plaid Shirt), Pants-H&M Kids, Hunter Kids Original Boots

When I put this look together, it felt like a "new" outfit to me. But then I wasn't entirely sure I didn't already wear it (possibly last winter?). Or maybe I just thought I did since stripes and plaid are my two favorite patterns to wear. It all looks the same after a while, kinda like Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus.

Review: Younique 3D Fiber Lashes

Today I'm reviewing Younique 3D Fiber Lashes. They promise to give a 300% increase in the volume and thickness of your lashes so I was very curious to see if this would actually work!

Cost: $29.00

Here's what you get in the little kit:

It comes with one tube of the Moodstruck Transplanting Gel and one tube of the Moodstuck Natural Fibers. They are packaged in this cute carrying case (similar to an eyeglass case) so it's easy to travel with.

How to use it

1. First you apply mascara (whatever kind you'd like) as you normally would and let it dry. I use Cover Girl Great Lash.

2. Then you apply the Moodstruck Transplanting Gel. It looks similar to a tube of mascara.

3. Immediately after you apply the gel, it's time to apply the Moodstruck Natural Fibers. It looks like little fuzzy pieces. I wiped off the excess on the bottle first before applying it. I was advised to only apply them halfway up my lashes so the fibers did not get into my eye.

4. Apply another coat of the Transplanting Gel to seal everything in. You can stop here, or do more rounds with the fibers (I chose to do another round).

On the left is my lashes just with mascara. The right is after the 3D Fiber Lashes. As you can see, it made a huge difference in the way my lashes look! It is really easy to use as well as remove (I used my normal makeup wipes). If you love the look of fake lashes, but don't want to be bothered with that application process, the Younique 3D Fiber Lashes are a really nice alternative.

Please note: I received a complimentary 3D Fiber Lashes kit in exchange for review. However, the opinions expressed in this post are solely mine.

Mix It Mondays: Leopard Cardigan

Cardigan-Target Girls (similar Takara Leopard Print Cardigan), Shirt-Target (similar Old Navy Shirt), Scarf-JCPenney (similar Pashmina Scarf), Pants-H&M Kids, Lands End Snow Boots

As you can see in the photos, we got yet another round of snow on Saturday. I know it's only the middle of February, but this is truly the winter that never wants to end. We're getting more snow tonight but then it's supposed to be in the 40s/50s the rest of the week (fingers crossed!).

For Mix It Mondays, I'm remixing my leopard cardigan. Today I paired it with my trusty chambray shirt and a cozy scarf. Here's how I've also worn it:
