The Tiny Heart: Moo Moos & Mom Jeans

Moo Moos & Mom Jeans

Mossimo Denim Vest (on sale for $12.48!), Tee-Old Navy, Necklace-Brighthouse Baubles, Old Navy Jeans, Flats-Gap Kids (similar Sam & Libby Bow Flats)

I wore this outfit on Saturday when I took a trip to Goodwill. I cleaned out my closet and had a big garbage bag of clothes to donate (don't worry, you can still Shop My Closet for the good stuff!). While I was there, I decided to browse around the store. I always see other bloggers getting such cute thrifted clothes. Nope, not in my Goodwill...nothing but floral moo moos and mom jeans!

  4. That's basically me in a thrift store. I never find good things!

  5. Oh no! Keep trying some days you hit big and some you strike out.
You look great here by the way. I am stopping by even though I did not link up today! It's been hectic here...

  6. I never find cute stuff at mine either. I don't go often enough which I think is the trick but I just don't have time for that many visits.

  7. Loving the added bling from your glitter flats...a girl after my own heart!!!!

  8. I've only been shopping in my Goodwill once before and it's the same thing! Where are all of the stores that have J.Crew and designer pieces?

  9. I've found a tremendous disparity in thrift-stores. Some are awful, some wonderful. I'm greatly impressed by Savers, which have several locations. (I just checked -- while they have four stores in NY, there aren't any in NJ. Sorry -- I was going to suggest we shop at one near you.)

  10. there's a really good one but so many are hit-n-miss

  11. haha there is nothing at my goodwill either!! I really try!

  12. We had a decent Goodwill that opened by me - it's still nice and clean and well laid out, but the turnover is terrible! I prefer Savers for thrifting.

    I love the blue pants!!

  14. Sometime it is hit or miss at the thrift stores.

  15. I've only gone to Goodwill a handful of times and never find anything either. I think consignment stores are better option since they seem to have more current trends even if they are priced a little higher.

  19. The key to thrifting is going often and looking through everything. Sometimes I go months without finding anything (and I have a variety of thrift shops that I frequent), other times I hit the jackpot. And don't go if you don't have a decent amount of time to look through everything. :)

  20. I agree about thrift stores! I don't know how many times I've gone with this ideal list of items in my head and I leave empty handed and with a terrible headache from the deodorizer they use to mask the smells. I have that necklace and love it in your outfit!

  21. I've been for 3d time cleaning out my wardrobe. I think I have still what to clean, but I'm delighted about my little steps. Cute casual look for Saturday.

  22. Aw bummer! We have a Goodwill in the town I work in (Boulder) that is fraught with all of the great, brand name goodies that the rich college kids donate. It's AMAZING. But some thrift stores, yes, are just moldy old lady clothes!

  23. Goodwill can be a hit or miss for me as well. Also depends on the location, some areas have better stuff than others. Thrifting really takes some patience!

  24. You have to keep searching until you find your treasure. You should try other Goodwill stores in surrounding areas. That usually make a big difference. :-)

  25. I went thrifting with my friend and found a couple good things but we had to go to like 5 places to find two good things. It was fun to do with my friend but I don't think I'd want to do it by myself. I'll stick to Marshalls instead :)

  27. I need to go thrifting! There used to be a cute little place right near my apartment, but it closed. I know there's a Goodwill somewhere near me, so I should probably find it!

  29. So funny that is exactly what I see most of the time. Been lucky once in awhile but I think you need to keep going!

  33. Haha, yeah I had the same experience when I went to a thrift shop down the street to look for maternity clothes last year. It was mom jean city! I do love this look though, those are CUTE jeans.

  34. I always find goodwills so hard to shop because they are massive and organized by color, which can sometimes make it hard to find things, when its all the same color you eyes just skip over things!

But at least you did a good closet clean out!
