The Tiny Heart: BarkBox Review

BarkBox Review

I won a 3 month subscription to Barkbox through a giveaway. If you're not familiar, it's a subscription service for dogs. They have various plans, starting at $29 for 1 month (you get a discount when signing up for additional months). You select the box based on your dog's size so they can tailor the treats/toys. I chose the Large size dog so Oliver and Jinx could share.

I received the first Barkbox in February. Here's what was included:
Loopies Stoggie Rope Toy: I gave this to Oliver without reading the description. It's meant for fetch, not for chewing. He started to destroy it in less than 5 minutes and I had it take it away from him.

Bocce's Bakery Truffle Mac & Cheese Treats: I loved that these treats only have 4 ingredients: Organic Barley Flour, Cheese, Nitrate-Free Turkey Bacon, and Truffle Oil. The dogs devoured these but it did seem to upset Oliver's sensitive stomach a little.

Complete Natural Nutrition Cheese Please Treats: These are pure cheese treats. (seriously, that's the only ingredient so actually humans could eat these too). They are small, so they're perfect for training.

Superior Farms Lamb Biscuits: Unlike the other treats, these had a bit more ingredients, some of which I couldn't pronounce. I decided to pass these onto my neighbor's dogs instead.

Mr. Barksmith's Cool Treats Peanut Butter Smoothie: You pop this into the freezer. I'm saving this one for the summer when the dogs need to cool down.

Verdict: I was pleased with the selection of natural and organic treats. That being said, I wish this box had some more toys as well.

Have you subscribed to BarkBox for your doggies? What were your thoughts on it?

  10. What a cute box! My dog would definitely tear up that toy in a matter of seconds. She doesn't play fetch, she plays destruction.

  11. I don't have a doggie - (yet, we're thinking of getting one when Oliver is a little older) but I've seen this and I think it's a great concept! I just ordered a similar box for babies, I'm anxious to see what comes in it!

  14. Great review! I thought about trying BarkBox out for Kobi but wasn't sure on what kind of doggie snacks they will give since he's on a no wheat, no grains, no preservatives, kind-of diet. (Spoiled pup and also sensitive to treats).. haha.. But I might have to look further and see esp since these treats doesn't look too bad.

  16. Your pups are too cute! I've been wanting to try a Bark Box, I love that they gave so many all natural treats. We recently found out that my little dog has bad allergies so we've been trying different treats to see what helps with them!
