Insta-Weekend + $225 Nordstrom Giveaway

Saturday I went to the mall with the goal of finding a faux leather skirt. Forever 21 came through! I scored this skater skirt one for $15.70. It doesn't seem to be on their website, so check your local store.

Sunday was a lazy day of grocery shopping and relaxing. I decided to make these pumpkin cookies. All you need is a boxed cake mix (I used white cake since my store didn't have the spiced one), a can of pumpkin, and chocolate chips. Easy peasy.

Then I did my nails for the first time in weeks, with some silver nail art for fun.

Now for the giveaway! I've teamed up with these lovely bloggers to offer you a $225 Nordstrom Gift Card! Think about all the fall clothes you could snag with that!

High Five For Friday

1.  I finally have an iPhone! I wanted one forever and when the 5C came out, I snagged it. Now, I just need to find the perfect case for it.

2. This is the face Oliver makes every time I'm eating something. He really knows how to turn on the sad puppy dog face! (FYI, it was a bagel).

3. I ordered this gold sequin clutch from eBay for a whopping $3.70 (now on sale for $3.48, ha!) plus free shipping. It's coming from Hong Kong and may take forever, but I think the price is definitely worth the wait!

4. Hershey's with Almonds is my all time favorite candy bar. I munched on it during the Emmy's and yes, I ate the whole thing!

5. I might hate the fall, but I love fall TV! How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls, New Girl, The Mindy Project, The Voice, and X Factor are all back. Having a DVR full of new episodes makes me a happy girl.

Look What I Got: Target Cutout Dress

Faux Leather Jacket-Target (similar), Cutout Dress-Target, Leopard Belt-ASOS, Booties-Target

I'm a little late to the cutout trend, but once I saw this burgundy (oxblood?) dress in Target, I knew I had to have it! (If cutouts aren't your thing, they have a very similar version without them). It was $24.99 and thanks to the Target Cartwheel app*, it was 20% off. If you're in Target on a weekly basis like I am, you must get this app. You can search by category (women's clothing, shoes, etc) and see which coupons are available. Then you just add the coupons you want and when you get to the register, they scan your phone to get the discounts.

*Major thanks to Allyssa for telling me about Cartwheel!

I also got this ASOS leopard belt for just $10. It's now on sale for $6.75 plus free shipping. If you're looking for a leopard belt, I don't think you'll find one cheaper!

Hot N Cold

Denim Jacket-Old Navy (similar), Chambray Shirt-Target (similar), Scarf-c/o FRAAS, Cobalt Jeans-Old Navy, Flats-Gap Kids Outlet

September here in Jersey makes me think of Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold" song. Mother Nature is changing her mind like a girl changes clothes. And that girl is ME. It's freezing in the morning, warm enough to feel like summer in the afternoon, and then freezing again when the sun goes down. I feel like I need three different outfits a day to adjust to the temperature!

My solution? Wear an outfit with layers. I added this FRAAS scarf (which is reversible!) for the chilly mornings. Once it warms up, I can take off the jacket and scarf so I'm not overheating.

How do you dress for the summer-to-fall transition?

Striped Cardigan + Weekend

Striped Cardigan-Sugar Love Boutique, Tee-Old Navy, Necklace-Eclectic Ornaments, Mint Jeans-Target (similar), Flats-Gap Kids Outlet

Thanks to a giveaway win, I got this adorable black and white striped cardigan. It's very cozy and warm and I'll definitely be wearing it a lot this fall.

On Saturday afternoon, we had a little Starbucks date. I had my first pumpkin bread of the season and it was so delicious!

The weather was absolutely beautiful on Sunday. It might've been the first day of fall, but it really felt like summer. We took the dogs for a nice, long walk.

Oliver and Jinx were loving the sun too!

The hubby decided to take the doors off his Jeep for the first time. We just cruised along the beach road. It was crazy windy but a lot of fun!

Friday's Fancies: Fall Wish List

While I'm still in denial that summer is coming to an end, it's inevitable that the cool fall weather will be coming. Here's what is on my fall wish list:

1. Faux leather skirt Leather is huge this fall. I love the fun and flirty style of this faux leather skater skirt.

2. Embellished sweatshirt Who says sweats are just for the gym? Sweatshirts are back, but with fun sparkly embellishments.

3. Leopard flats I had an unfortunate incident with my leopard flats at the dog park last year. Oliver peed on them (while I was wearing them!) and I haven't been able to get the smell out. These girls' ones are the perfect replacement.

4. Oxblood bag The studs, the color, the crossbody style...I love it all!

5. Leather trimmed dress  This dress is a fun way to incorporate leather without it being over the top.

6. Camo skinny jeans I was rather iffy about the camo trend last year since I'm pretty girly. But the more I see it, the more it grows on me.

What's on your fall wish list?

Shocking

Coral Peplum Top-Forever 21 (similar), Necklace-Brighthouse Baubles, Jeans-Old Navy, Quilted Bag-Forever Tiff Couture (similar), Gold Sandals-Target

I wore this outfit Friday night to our favorite local taco/burrito place. It's very casual (as are a lot of places by the beach) and it's decorated with photos of surfers. After we placed our order, we noticed one of the girls that works there (who couldn't have been older than 17) had on THE tightest, tiniest short shorts I have ever seen. I'm talking practically like underwear. I know the place is casual and I live at the beach, but I could not believe that they let her wear that to work. Pretty much every guy in the place was blatantly staring at her butt, including an older man who could've been old enough to be her grandfather.

What outfits have you seen lately that shocked you?
