The Tiny Heart: Look What I Got: Rent the Runway Dress

Look What I Got: Rent the Runway Dress

Dress-Vera Wang Lavender via Rent the Runway, Necklace worn as Belt-Stella & Dot, Clutch-Vintage, Bracelet-Etsy (worn to my own wedding!), Shoes-Andres Machado (similar for $30)

Dress retail price: $430, Rent the Runway Price: $85, I paid only for shipping thanks to a credit!

As most of you already know, I chose another Rent the Runway dress for this wedding. It's a rental service for designer dresses that I've used a few times. But when I opened up the package, the jeweled belt it came with wasn't there! Cue mini meltdown. I tried it on with a few belts and finally realized a ribbon necklace would work as a belt...crisis averted.

My cousin's wedding was this past Saturday night in NYC at the Harvard Club. This venue is supposed to be upscale, but I wasn't impressed. Animal heads like deer, elephants, ox etc were on the walls...not exactly romantic. I just pictured old men smoking cigars and drinking whiskey in there. The cocktail hour only had passed hors d'oeuvres, 90% of which were seafood/fish which I don't eat. The food at the reception was not a whole lot better, but at least I was able to eat the entree. I spotted a Chipotle across the street and I seriously thought about grabbing a burrito. We did have fun taking photos though... (Big thanks to my parents for their camera...I forgot mine! Blogger's worst nightmare.)

Maybe my hubby should run for President?

  11. These pictures are so cute! You and your hubby look like you have so much fun together. I've been to the Harvard Club before too and I didn't love it. It definitely seemed like a very pretentious place!

  14. Genius move using the ribbon necklace as a belt. I probably would have panicked and gone out and spent money on a belt that I only wore once...haha.

  26. Aw you and your Hubby look so cute together :) The venue does sound like a bummer... animal heads and seafood? Not my thing. Gorgeous dress though! I love the idea of this rent the runway thing, just don't know where I'd wear a designer dress to haha. That necklace works perfectly as a belt! Genius. You look super pretty girl!

  27. I am so happy you got that dress...it looks so good on you! Rent the Runway is perfect for weddings. I would have totally used it a few years ago when all my friends were getting married!

I usually hate wedding food so I would be running to Chipotle with you!

  28. love the dress - it looks great. and so awesome to be able to wear a designer dress at a fraction of the cost. it's sad that wedding food is always disappointing, especially since it's not cheap for the couple/family to have to pay for.
