The Tiny Heart: 2013

New Year's Eve Outfit

Modcloth When In Milan Dress//True Grit Dylan Faux Fur Jacket//Betsey Johnson Wristlet//Lori's Shoes Sequin Pumps

If I was going out tonight for New Year's Eve, this is what I'd wear. I actually own this Modcloth dress...I wore it to a wedding and I think it would make a pretty NYE dress as well. It would stand out in a sea of sequin dresses! I'd pair it with a faux fur coat to bundle up with since it's cold here in Jersey. Add a fun clutch and a sparkly pair of heels.

Click for the ModCloth When In Milan Dress post!

I'll be staying in tonight. I have work during the day so I'm not sure I'll actually be able to stay up till midnight! Sad but true, haha.

Now I want to introduce you to Christie from The Closet By Christie, fellow Jersey girl and fashionista! We're also now real life friends, thanks to a blogger meetup last month.

I'm Christie Geiger, the author behind The Closet by Christie blog. I'm a twenty-something Sales, Marketing, and Events extraordinaire by day and a fashion blogger by night. The Closet by Christie is a blog for the twenty-something woman that is beginning down the journey of developing a career, whether it be an internship or office job, and wants to incorporate their trendiness into everyday life on the job.

Happy New Year, everyone! See you in 2014!

Meet Adri Lately + Le Mode Giveaway!

Today I want to introduce to Adri from Adri Lately. She is fairly new to the blogging scene but she's got amazing LA style! I did a Q&A with her and she's also got a jewelry giveaway for you!

 1. Describe your style in a few words.

In a nutshell, boho meets glam. I'm a California beach loving girl and that completely reflects my style. I love casual boho pieces mixed with hints of glam like sequins.

2. What's the one item every LA girl needs to have in her closet?

Oh to narrow it down to one...but it has to be a great leather or faux leather jacket. It can go from day to night and is such a staple. I actually think every girl should have one!

3. What's been the hardest part of blogging? What's been the best?
Well I'm relatively new on the blog scene, I think the tough part was putting myself on the internets for the whole world to see. But sometimes scary things are the most rewarding. So far it's been pretty fun! The best part has been getting to have this creative outlet that I can share and it has pushed me to get more use out of my closet.
4. What is your favorite winter fashion trend?

I'm really crazy for plaid! Red plaid, checkered plaid, blue plaid! I love it all! Plaid is just so fun to dress up or dress down.
5. The one piece of clothing or accessory I can't live without is ____________.

Tan booties. I don't know how I lived without them!

6. I won't be caught dead wearing  _______________.

Wedge sneakers. Are those still in style? They're just not for me.

7. What's your go-to outfit? (aka what you put on when you can't think of what to wear?)

My go-to is hands down a plaid button down, skinny jeans, and a leather jacket. Depending on where you're going you can add heels and some bling for date night or booties and a scarf for an effortless look.

Now for the giveaway! Adri is giving away $25 to Le Mode

High Five For Friday: Christmas Edition!

1. On Christmas Eve I finally got around to giving myself a holiday manicure!

2. I participated in a Secret Santa exchange with some of the bloggers I met back in November, organized by Alex. My Secret Santa, aka Melissa got me a beautiful Ralph Lauren scarf! My hubby and his family decided we weren't doing gifts this year so it was nice to have one gift to open on Christmas!

3. We wound up hosting Christmas dinner for 8. (I didn't find out till Christmas Eve that so many people were coming!). I am thankful it all came together, the food was delicious (can you say food coma?), and we now have TONS of leftovers.

 4. One of our guests made cake balls. Chocolate covered pumpkin cake and white chocolate red velvet. Holy wow, they were amazing. If I wasn't so stuffed from the dinner, I would've eaten the whole plate!

5. I won this adorable "ugly" Christmas sweatshirt from a giveaway hosted by Kym. As soon as everyone left, I put this cozy sweatshirt on and parked myself on the couch!

Review: Anjolee Anniversary Ring

I was really excited when Anjolee contacted me to review an anniversary ring. If you're not familiar with them , Anjolee is a high end jewelery manufacturer. You can customize all of their designs by metal type, carat size, diamond/gemstone, so you can create exactly the piece you want on their website.

Anjolee only sells diamond and gemstone jewelry, but for me, they created my ring in CZs. My ring size is a tiny 3.25 and I was absolutely thrilled that Anjolee customized the ring in my size! (It's nearly impossible for me to find rings in that size). I've been wearing it as a right hand ring since I wear my engagement ring and wedding band on the left. I absolutely love  how it looks!

If you're looking for a diamond bridal set ring, check out Anjolee!

Happy holidays everyone! I'll be back after Christmas with a new post!

Happy Spring?

JCPenney Military Vest (only $15!), Shirt-American Eagle (similar Forever 21 Plaid Shirt), Bag-Forever Tiff Couture (similar Quilted Crossbody Bag), Old Navy Rockstar Jeans, Flats-Gap Kids (similaar ModCloth Silver Bow Flats)

If I look off in these photos, it's because I have a cold. I think I'm giving Rudolph some competition for who has the reddest nose. I blame it on the crazy temperature swings we're having. It snowed on Tuesday and yesterday we hit 72 degrees, which is more like May temperatures. I went from wearing my parka with a hat, scarf, and gloves to wearing this outfit on Saturday with no coat! And I was actually able to wear flats instead of boots. It might officially be winter now, but it certainly felt like Spring.

But before you get too jealous, the temperatures will be back to normal (aka 30 degrees) by Christmas.

Friday's Fancies: Snuggled Up

Forever 21 Fair Isle Sweater//Forever 21 Red Jeggings//Sole Society Knit Infinity Scarf//Obey Oak Ridge Mittens//Hunter Original Rain Boots

This week's Friday's Fancies theme is Snuggled Up. I think this look would be the perfect cozy winter outfit...a fair isle sweater, festive red jeggings, knit mittens, and Hunter boots for walking through the snow. I'm picturing wearing this while drinking hot chocolate on the couch, cuddled with my two furbabies for warmth (who needs a fireplace when you have dog "heaters"?).

Funny that I'm posting this outfit since it will be almost 70 here on Sunday! I will be soaking up as much of that warm weather as I possibly can before it inevitably snows again (we had yet another two snowstorms this week). Have a great weekend everyone!

Holiday Party

Dress-Dress Up Boutique(similar Geometric Print Dress), Necklace-Forever 21, Tights-c/o SPANX, Vintage Clutch, Andres Machado Heels

Last Friday I went to my hubby's work holiday party held in a restaurant. He wasn't quite sure of the dress code, so I decided to wear this geometric print dress since it was dressier than what I'd wear to work, but not too formal. I think I fit right in with this dress.

The people at SPANX kindly sent me a little box of goodies. I decided to wear the Patterned Tight-End Tights for some subtle pattern mixing with the dress. The tights were very comfortable and stayed put the entire night. I'd definitely recommend them!

Some women didn't get the memo that it was a work event and there was a lot of cleavage on display...totally inappropriate! But far worse was that an employee's girlfriend was falling over drunk by 8:45 pm! She kept walking into the table and photo bombed one of my photos. My hubby said she was the talk of the office on incredibly embarrassing!

Fragrance Sets Make the Best Gift! #ScentSavings

I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and their client.

We're just one week away from Christmas which means the shopping pressure is on. It can be a challenge for me finding the perfect present for everyone on your list while still sticking to a budget. Since my bills have to come first, I can't spend a ton of money on everyone but I still want them to love their gift. Are you still going crazy trying to come up with the best gift at the last minute? No worries, I've got you covered!

Walmart has a big selection of fragrance gift sets which would make an awesome gifts for a friend, sister, neighbor etc. And guess what? The price is right on budget. You can see all the sets they have here:

This Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Enchanted set is just $19.88, which means I can gift it and still have money in my bank account. It has a Eau de Parfum Spray, a body lotion, and a shower gel so it's like three gifts in one. Bonus, it also comes with a free Celebrity Voice ringtone. I am a big fan of Taylor Swift's music (her choices in men, not so much, haha!) so of course I was drawn to this set! I was planning on gifting the set but I just may keep it for myself!
Now since I like knowing what a perfume smells like before I buy it, let me describe it for you. Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Enchanted has a wild berries scent to it as well as a sugary vanilla scent. It almost changes from musky to sweet as you wear it. It's not overpowering at all which is great since I am sensitive to heavy perfumes. I'd say it's flirty and would be great to wear going out on a date. (I have a feeling Taylor wears it on her dates!). If you have a T-Swift fan in your life, I know she'll absolutely love this as a gift.
