This weekend was spent preparing for Hurricane Sandy. The grocery store was completely out of water, but luckily I didn't need to fight anyone for a can of Spaghetti O's. All the essentials were piled into my cart...bread, peanut butter, canned soup, chips, dip, Smores Granola Bars, and Pop Tarts. Total: $86. Whoever said it costs more to eat healthy wasn't prepping for a hurricane!
For those that don't know, I live 1 block from the ocean on the Jersey shore. I decided to evacuate to my parents' house (who live inland), while my hubby stayed behind with the dogs. There's a good chance I'll lose power at some point, so please bare with me as I may not be able to blog/visit blogs over the next few days. To all my blog friends in the path of Sandy, please stay safe!
1. Remember the Zara flats I was deciding between? Well, I ordered these and they were HUGE. Like 4 sizes too big. So, I'm thinking even if you wear a womens 6.5, you could probably fit into the Zara kids shoes! They're so much cheaper than the womens' ones. (FYI, I returned the shoes. I can't actually figure out what size I'd need).

While taking these photos, I heard whistling and some comments from guys across the street in Giants jerseys. I was only half paying attention to what they were saying since I was busy focusing on posing. When I was done with the photos, this incredibly awkward conversation took place:
Guy: "She's so beautiful. Is that your girl?" Hubby: "Yes, that's my wife." Guy: "She's beautiful. Don't let her go." Hubby: "I wasn't planning on it."
Thanks drunk guy, but I'm not leaving my husband for you. Moral of the story: Do not take blog photos EVER during the Giants game.
Burgundy, wine, merlot, maroon. These are all names for the color I'm wearing that I prefer to say instead of oxblood. Who came up with that horrible name? Every time I see it, I can't help but think of oxen being slaughtered. Does PETA know about this? I hope not. I don't want to get paint or flour thrown at me just for wearing the color formerly known as burgundy.
I got this leopard skirt on the clearance rack for $10 (same day as I got this dress).I was thisclose to putting it back on the rack. When I go shopping now, I make more of a conscious effort to only buy clothes that fit in with the rest of my wardrobe. Well, does anyone really need a leopard print mini skirt? The answer is always no, unless you're: a) Snooki, b) Peg Bundy, or c) Coco from Ice Loves Coco. Since neither of those three are exactly what I'd call style icons, the skirt almost went back. But then I thought for a minute about how leopard is the new neutral, all the different ways I could wear it, and it just had to be mine. Plus, did I mention it was 10 bucks? Can you even get a meal from McDonald's for that price?

Oh, how I love the Target clearance rack. I spotted this dress first in an XL on clearance and scoured the racks praying I'd find it in a XS. Lucky me, I found the very last one! I scored this dress (which came with the belt) for $7, marked down from $24. Honey boo boo's mom would be proud.
