High Five for Friday

Linking up with From My Grey Desk for:

1. Yesterday I hit 1000 followers! I want to give a HUGE thank you to all of you, my wonderful readers, many of whom I can now call my friends. When I started this blog, I never could have imagined that this would be possible. I think it's time to dream bigger!

I'm now planning a giveaway extravaganza to celebrate. If you'd like to participate (and get your blog some more exposure), fill out the form here.

2. I'm taking sponsor spots for October! I have new ad options, including The Signature, which will appear on the bottom of every one of my posts. Rates have also been reduced! See options here.

3. My manicure of the week: grey plus a hint of sparkles! I used New York Color in Sidewalkers. Best of all, it costs around $1!

4. The amazing people at Andres Machado all the way in Spain sent me two surprise pairs of shoes yesterday, including these hot ankle boots! I have THE hardest time finding shoes in a 4, so I was overjoyed...it seriously felt like my birthday when I saw the package. I'm already imagining all the ways I can style them!

5. You may not know this, but I could eat Italian food everyday. (And I would if it wasn't for my hubby). This was a good week, because I got to eat it twice in a row....first I made meatballs and spaghetti and then I got to eat the leftovers in this sub. YUM!

Have a great weekend, loves!

Animal Print

Top-F21 (similar), Pants-Target, Flats-Target (similar), Clutch-So Head to Toe {giveaway win}

I'm linking up today with Marionberry Style for her trend of the month challenge: animal print. I used to associate animal prints with streetwalkers, but I've since learned that a small amount of leopard print is classy. Wear it on a skin tight mini however, and you may be mistaken for Snooki.

Also linking up with The Pleated Poppy and Rolled Up Pretty.

Sponsor Spotlight: Here and Now + Giveaway

Today my sponsor Jessica from Here and Now is taking over the blog! Jessica has super cute style and a common love for pugs. She's styling an outfit from day to night and has an awesome giveaway too!

Tiny Heart Readers - I am SO excited to be over here with you lovelies today!
I’m Jessica from Here&Now where I blog about my daily outfits, adventures in building a stylish wardrobe (aka shopping), and of course my fur baby, Doug the Pug.

I have styled two of my favorite additions to my Fall wardrobe for both night & day. I am already dreaming up more ways to wear this H&M sweater (similar) and Storets vegan leather skirt, and hope that you can get some inspiration for mixing things up in your own closet!
{ Night: boutique sequin collar necklace (similar) // Golden Ponies leopard clutch // Nine West pumps // House of Harlow cuff (love this statement cuff) // lipstick: Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey }

{Get the Look}
leather skirt ($40) + burgundy sweater ($60) + collar necklace ($38) + leopard clutch ($30) + black pumps ($49) + gold cuff ($28) + lipstick ($15)

I'd describe my style as:
Classic, relaxed, feminine
What trend are you most excited about for fall: Leather and burgundy... hmm, I wonder if you can tell??

Can't live without accessory: oversized gold watch

{Get the Look}

Go-to look (aka what you put on when you can't think of anything to wear): Chambray button down + statement necklace + skinny jeans + ballet flats

Top 5 wardrobe essentials:
Chambray shirt (or 3!), dark denim (in the fit that you find most flattering), black pumps (my personal favorites have pointed toes and 3 inch heels), pencil skirts (seriously work for all occasions!), layerable tees (obsessed with every StyleMint tee)

Favorite part about blogging: Stretching the legs of my creative side, and meeting fabulous like-minded women! My day time job is as a graduate student in biomedical research, so coming home and visiting the sites of my blogger "friends" helps me to unwind and indulge one of my passions (personal style!)

Now for the giveaway!

This year I have been making a point of purchasing gifts from local and handmade sellers, so naturally Etsy is one of my go-to sites when gift-giving. I have picked out items from two of my favorite sellers - one item to dress up yourself, and another for dressing up your house (2 things that are always on my mind).

Giveaway open internationally!

Saturday may have been the first day of fall, but it still felt like summer. It was a gorgeous sunny, 80 degree day. The hubby and I decided to go to Long Beach Island. It's typically a summer destination, but we like to go in September when the island is nice and quiet. We had brunch at our favorite diner, bought chocolate peanut butter fudge, and I got a sweatshirt for $5 thanks to end of season sales.

I've now officially completed my summer to-do list. Clearly I did it just in time since I'm now freezing my butt off in boots and a scarf.

High Five for Friday

Linking up with From My Grey Desk for:

 1. Fall TV shows are coming back! I'm obsessed with The Voice and X Factor.

It's so nice to see Brit Brit looking pretty and being normal again!

Can't wait till my other favorites come back such as New Girl and How I Met Your Mother.

2. I ate a ridiculous amount of food when I was at my parents' for Rosh Hashanah. For two days in a row this included: chicken soup, salad, pot roast, stuffing, sweet potato pudding, potato kugel, and noodle kugel. Oh and brownies and honey cake for dessert.

 Pretty sure I've gained 10 lbs.

3. My old bedroom at my parents' is like a treasure trove and this time I unearthed this little gem circa 1996:

 I can still rock a nameplate a la Carrie on Sex & The City, right?

4. I'm now a product model for Rire Boutique. Never in a million years did I think that would happen...clearly when you're 4'10" you can't be a real model. So major thanks to Rire for making my modeling dreams come true! Move over, Tyra...I can smize too!

5. Straight hair! My hair had been up in a bun or wavy the entire summer thanks to the crazy humidity. This week was the first time in ages I was able to flat iron it again and it feels amazing!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Guest Post: Life Unsweetened

**Today Rachel from Life Unsweetened is guest posting while I'm celebrating the Rosh Hashanah holiday. Please note this is a scheduled post and may not be able to respond to comments until tomorrow.**

Hey everyone! I'm Rachel and I blog over at Life Unsweetened, where I write about my everyday life and fashion. Today I'm guest posting for Sharon about two of fall's hottest handbag trends: satchels and studs.

If you're looking for something that's more structured and simple, opt for the satchels. These classic handbags will never go out of style due to their clean look and functionality. They hold all of your essentials for work, school or a dinner with friends. Choose a more neutral shade, like the Cole Haan pick below, for work and opt for a brighter color or trendy details for a night out.

If structured satchels aren't your thing, you can add some excitement and edge to your look with a studded handbag. Studs have been seen everywhere on the runways and catalogs- particularly on shoes and jackets. Take your look one step further by incorporating it into your carry-all. The choices below are great for a night out!

Rachel Berry

**Please note this is a scheduled post and may not be able to respond to comments for a few days.**

 Top-c/o RIRE Boutique, Pants-H&M Kids, Clutch-Vintage, Shoes-Andres Machado

When my hubby saw my outfit he said, "that looks like something that girl from Glee would wear." He meant Rachel Berry (Lea Michele's character).

I'm taking that as a compliment! I love Rachel's preppy yet quirky style. I think my hubby is right...the polka dots and peter pan collar is right up Rachel's alley, don't ya think?

Which tv character's style do you admire?

High Five for Friday

Linking up with From My Grey Desk for

1. The other night the hubby was walking the dogs when he heard an animal crying across the street. The crazy animal lover he is, he had to go check it out. And this is what he found..

 Yep, it's a baby squirrel!

We couldn't bring it inside since it's a wild animal after all and Oliver was already banging on the window trying to kill it (beagle hunting instincts!). Our upstairs neighbor has since taken him in till he's old enough to be outside on his own. Here's hoping she doesn't get rabies!

2. The Gabrielle Rose Giveaway...have you entered? Did I mention it's open internationally?
 3. I'm in love with these boots. I wanted them since last fall and by some miracle they're still available. They'd be the perfect riding boot and best of all, they come in a size 4! Eeek! Who wants to buy them for me?

4. I had my first recipe FAIL in quite a long time. I attempted to make this Avocado Pasta:

 via
I should've known it was going to be a disaster from the start when the avocado wasn't ripe enough, the food processor wouldn't work, and it looked nothing like the photo.

5. It's a 4 day weekend for me, whoop! I'll be at my parents' on Monday and Tuesday for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

Have a great weekend, loves!
