The Tiny Heart: High Five for Friday

High Five for Friday

Linking up with From My Grey Desk for:

 1. Fall TV shows are coming back! I'm obsessed with The Voice and X Factor.

It's so nice to see Brit Brit looking pretty and being normal again!

Can't wait till my other favorites come back such as New Girl and How I Met Your Mother.

2. I ate a ridiculous amount of food when I was at my parents' for Rosh Hashanah. For two days in a row this included: chicken soup, salad, pot roast, stuffing, sweet potato pudding, potato kugel, and noodle kugel. Oh and brownies and honey cake for dessert.

Pretty sure I've gained 10 lbs.

3. My old bedroom at my parents' is like a treasure trove and this time I unearthed this little gem circa 1996:

I can still rock a nameplate a la Carrie on Sex & The City, right?

4. I'm now a product model for Rire Boutique. Never in a million years did I think that would happen...clearly when you're 4'10" you can't be a real model. So major thanks to Rire for making my modeling dreams come true! Move over, Tyra...I can smize too!

5. Straight hair! My hair had been up in a bun or wavy the entire summer thanks to the crazy humidity. This week was the first time in ages I was able to flat iron it again and it feels amazing!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

  2. I hear you on the straight hair thing. My hair was a hot mess all summer..it's nice to be able to style it and not end up looking like a frizzball!

  9. Sharon, I love the necklace nameplate, I have the bracelet instead that my grandmother gave me for my 15th (Quiceañera) birthday :-)
Girl, I also feel your pain on the whole humidity hair thing, I can't wait to straighten mine out, but since it's gotten so long I'm afraid of how long is going to take :-(
Hope you have a great weekend and enjoy the rest of the holiday mom's home cooking food is the best.

  11. I'm so excited about fall tv. There are a bunch of new shows coming out. I hope they don't get canceled because some of them sound good. It seems like shows don't get renewed that often though...

  26. Wait, How I Met Your Mother isn't back on yet?? My boyfriend and I became obsessed with the show and watched seasons 1-6 on Netflix, but they don't have season 7 up yet. I'm hoping they will once it comes out in October. But I thought season 8 was already running... I've been concerned all summer long that I'll be two seasons behind everyone else because of this discrepancy in episode availability.

I was also super excited to see Britney's real comeback, but unfortunately have not been able to see any episodes! I must catch up. Hopefully they're on Hulu or on demand?

Also, congrats on the modeling gig! From one petite to another, I totally understand how surreal and exciting this must be!

  34. Whoa, congrats for modeling for Rire, that's really exciting! (I'll have to go check them out now, that polka dotted top you have on it adorable, is that from their line?) And you totally have the smize down, Tyra would be proud. :)

Yes, so excited for all of the seasons of everything to start up, I am total agreement with on you on the X-Factor, it is so nice to see Britney back and sort of normal again. (Considering around 2007 I was pretty sure we were going to end up seeing her obituary in the paper. :( It's nice to see one of those stars being able to turn their life around and end up in a good place.)

  42. First of all Congrats on your Modeling Gig. Models come in all sizes, heights, shapes, forms and races. Plus you are so pretty, Sharon. What kind of company is that?

Secondly Britney looks fantastic (once again) and I love Coral on her. How is she as a judge on X Factor?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Rire Boutique is a clothing company.

They're still doing the auditions so I'm not exactly sure how Britney will be as a judge. So far she seems to be pretty honest and hasn't sugarcoated anything.

  62. I'm just catching up on old blog posts but congratulations on being a product model for Rire and doing what you have always wanted. Although I'm a lot taller I feel like being 4'-10" would be great in so many ways. I know a bunch of people who can still shop in the kids section and get the same clothing for half the price. :)

I'm really excited New Girl is back too!
