The Tiny Heart: High Five for Friday

High Five for Friday

Linking up with From My Grey Desk for

1. The other night the hubby was walking the dogs when he heard an animal crying across the street. The crazy animal lover he is, he had to go check it out. And this is what he found..

 Yep, it's a baby squirrel!

We couldn't bring it inside since it's a wild animal after all and Oliver was already banging on the window trying to kill it (beagle hunting instincts!). Our upstairs neighbor has since taken him in till he's old enough to be outside on his own. Here's hoping she doesn't get rabies!

2. The Gabrielle Rose Giveaway...have you entered? Did I mention it's open internationally?
 3. I'm in love with these boots. I wanted them since last fall and by some miracle they're still available. They'd be the perfect riding boot and best of all, they come in a size 4! Eeek! Who wants to buy them for me?

4. I had my first recipe FAIL in quite a long time. I attempted to make this Avocado Pasta:

 via
I should've known it was going to be a disaster from the start when the avocado wasn't ripe enough, the food processor wouldn't work, and it looked nothing like the photo.

5. It's a 4 day weekend for me, whoop! I'll be at my parents' on Monday and Tuesday for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

Have a great weekend, loves!

  14. My little cousin shares your tiny feet affliction. She's been able to get by with mostly buying from the kids section, but now that she's 18 and in college it's getting hard. Where do you shop for shoes? I'd love to share some places with her! Have a great weekend/ Rosh Hashanah:)

    1. Thanks Tashia! I still shop the kids section for shoes, hehe. For heels, Nordstrom is great since they carry size 4 or alonai.com has a lot of size 4 too.

  47. Old Navy made a very similar style to this boot, I picked up a pair in black and brown - not as good quality I'm sure but they will do the trick!

  48. Oh wow, rescuing a baby squirrel is something I couldn't/wouldn't do. Probably. At this moment I'm actually wearing an anti-squirrel t-shirt! You and your husband are better animal lovers than I am!

  49. OMG all those circle scarves are so pretty and colorful. Love them. Great tall Cognac boots, too. =)

    ReplyDelete
  50. I can see the ingenuity and good taste that inspire you to do this job.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I actually have those boots from Nordstrom in two colors (the cognac here & black I just picked up), and they are worth it! They go with practically everything and there's a little wedge that gives you a little extra height. I think they are worth the investment. :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. That baby squirrel is so cute! And those boots are gorgeous, I love that cognac color and it would be so perfect for fall. I just bought riding boots that are sorta like those and i can't wait for it to come. And I can't wait to see what you will wear with it if you get it :)

  53. those boots are so cute! such a pretty brown color.

  54. Such a cute squirrel baby. So your neighbor can rest a bit easier, it's rare for a rodent to have rabies. I forget why.

There is nothing worse than opening an avocado you know isn't quite ripe. I feel like once it's cut it has to be used since it won't ripen as nicely so then I eat a gross, hard avocado. :) Mmmmmm.

    Have a great holiday!
