The Tiny Heart: Summer-to-Dos

8.14.2012

Summer-to-Dos

The other day I started panicking about how quickly this summer is going. After losing an entire weekend to the hospital and realizing it's already halfway into August, I made a list of Summer-to-Dos. Things I MUST do before the summer is over...

Dress-Lulus (old), Scarf-Charming Charlie (no longer available), Sandals-AE

1. Go to the beach more. This is an easy one, since I'm a block away. Of all the summers I've lived at the beach, I've probably gone to the beach the least this year due to the crazy heat we had. I'm starting to lose my tan and resolve to do something about that ASAP!

2. Yappy Hour. Yappy Hour is (you probably guessed it), happy hour for dogs and their humans at a local bar. The dogs run around and play with each other in a fenced in area outside with a dog trainer while you have drinks. Just don't order food (I learned this the hard way with 5 dogs drooling on my legs at once).

3. Make homemade ice cream. One of my friends gave me an ice cream maker for my bridal shower. It makes the most creamiest, melt in your mouth ice cream and fruit sorbet. I haven't used it once this year.

4. Boardwalk in Pt. Pleasant. While I live at the beach, our boardwalk is pretty mediocre compared to this one. It has rides (which I avoid), games, fried foods, and my favorite, the arcade with ski-ball. Every year the hubs and I go into the boardwalk photo booth and take silly photos of ourselves (which I display on our fridge) and then he wins me all the stuffed animals he can manage.

5. Play mini-golf. This one is actually right on our boardwalk. Being right up the street, it should be easy to check off the list. The hubs and I keep score and get really competitive, even though there's always some 5 year old ahead of us that laughs at our poor mini golf skills.

6. Visit New Hope, PA. This one is something I don't have to do only in the summer, but I'd like to. We planned to go to the weekend I was in the hospital, so I very much want to go now.  New Hope is an adorable little town if you've never been. The hubs and I love to go to the Golden Nugget Flea Market, have lunch outside at one of the cute little restaurants, and go into the shops.

What's still left on your summer to-do list? Do you think I'll be able to check all these off my list in time?
