The Tiny Heart: Sick

Sick

If you've been wondering why I've been absent from the blogosphere, it's because I've been in and out of two hospitals since Thursday. That morning I had severe abdominal pains in my right side and had to call my dad to pick me up from work (I couldn't actually drive myself). By the time he had gotten me to his house, the pain had worsened. He wound up calling an ambulance and I was rushed to the ER for the first time in my life. After some pain meds and a CT scan, I was told I had a swollen kidney, which they believed was due to a kidney stone. After a few hours, I was sent home.

The next day I wound up in a second ER and was admitted to the hospital this time. I had a terrible experience at the hospital from the moment I got there. The short story is they wanted to remove my gallbladder and it turns out they were completely wrong...my gallbladder is fine. I was finally discharged on Sunday and now I'm recovering at home.

PS To make up for a lack of outfit posts (I didn't think you guys wanted to see my hospital gowns), I'll have an awesome new GIVEAWAY coming up for you tonight. Hope to get back to the outfit posts and reading your lovely blogs again soon!

  1. Wow...that was traumatizing no doubt! I had a similar experience a few years back for which my doctors never could find a cause. After several of these issues over a number of weeks, it miraculously disappeared. Wish you the best of recovery! xo

  25. That sounds terrible! I'm glad you didn't have your gallbladder removed, especially if it wasn't needed. Maybe just kidney stones? Either way, I hope you're feeling better <3

  34. OMGoodness Sharon! That is horrible! Be very careful of your medical care. My sister had this same run around and ended up with a tumor in her intestines the size of a grapefruit that no one ever found! Not to scare you at all, but I just want you to make sure that you get the care that you need and don't settle for something that doesn't sit right. I sure hope you feel much better soon!
