The Tiny Heart: Movie Date

Movie Date

The hubby and I had a movie date the other night. This event is about rare as seeing a Jersey Shore cast member without an orange tan. I like comedies, while he prefers action/war movies (and anything with Julia Roberts, Natalie Portman, or Megan Fox). He loves to joke that we have nothing in common. So, when I found out he actually wanted to see Rock of Ages as much as I did, it was a true miracle.

 Fedora-F21, Tee-Old Navy, Skirt-F21, Sandals-AE (similar), Sunnies-Ray Ban Jr.(similar style)

I was a little worried that he wouldn't like it since he hates musicals, but 80s rock is right up his alley. Tom Cruise actually made quite a hot 80s rockstar. (I didn't want to admit that, since he weirds me out now ever since the whole Scientology debacle). And he slayed the Bon Jovi songs, which should say a lot to you, since I worship Bon Jovi like a Jersey rock god.

Do you and your other half have the same taste in movies or do you battle it out like we do?

  7. Cute look, I like the tied tee shirt and the asymetrical look it gives. The H and I don't battle it out but we do have differnet tastes in movies. We always give one another's a try and usually end up suprised in the end that we enjoyed it.

  11. OK, I wasn't interested in the movie (because of Tom Cruise), but I keep hearing so many good things. And even though I'm no0t a Jersey Girl, I LOVE me some Bon Jovi. Guess I'm going to have to see it! Love the knotted tee!

  16. What a cute, casual outfit! I'm glad you had a fun movie date!! My fiance and I have a similar taste in movies; our main problem is that he likes going to the movies much more than I do, so he always wants to go whereas I'm just kinda interested haha.

  19. Oh, we want to see that movie, too!! I'm easy. lol I really like anything unless it's scary. The Hubs however rarely EVER will watch anything sappy with me. So, we almost always see adventure type movies together. We tried to see Snow White and the Huntsman last weekend and it didn't work out. So, we might try again tomorrow. =)

    1. I think most guys won't watch sappy movies, haha. I've noticed my hubby was A LOT more willing to watch those types of movies back when we were just dating, now that we're married, forget it!

  20. LOL, we mostly have the same taste in movies, though I ended up going to Rock of Ages with my mom because she wanted to see it and my dad wouldn't go. But my hubby said he would have seen it! It's cute and I agree with you, I'm not much for Tom Cruise anymore but he rocked that role. It was good.

  21. I'm with you on the movie issue!!! My hubby and I are the same - he loves action, scifi, and war movies, while I love the romcoms, horror flicks, and dramas. So. Opposite. Lucky you your hubby wanted to see Rock of Ages with you - mine has no interest - although he's surprised me with wanting to see other movies (the Hunger Games!) in the past. I'm always going to movies with friends to see what I want to see - I'm looking forward to Magic Mike with my friends on Monday!

I love this simple look Sharon! The hat makes it so fun!

  28. Love this outfit on you. That skirt looks great!! HA-HA well I despise going to the movies (I have bad knees and it hurts to sit down in one position to long) So normally the battle is over what to watch on TV and besides storage wars, two and half men (which I don't like the new ones) and how I met your mother, its usually a battle!

What also helps, is there is a $3 theater that plays movies that came out a month prior. This helps b/c we'll spend three bucks on a movie even if it's bad :D Recently we went to see Ted, he loved it, I hated it... the saga continues :D
