The Tiny Heart: Boyz in the Hood

Boyz in the Hood

Tank-Abercrombie (option for $4.50), Skirt-F21(similar), Necklace-F21(similar), Sandals-Target (similar)

First, I want to say thank you for making my last post the most commented on to date! Apparently you guys really love imaginary yachts.

Saturday morning had more drama than a Jerry Springer episode. As you know, I've got some interesting neighbors. I heard two of them screaming and cursing at each other. Apparently one neighbor saw another neighbor (who looks like he walked out of Boyz in the Hood) beat his dog and told him he was calling the police. The neighbor with the dog took his young daughter and hid down the block like a coward.

From my window, I saw the cops pull up and then an hour later Animal Control came. They wound up removing the dog from the home. Like Jinx, this dog is a pitbull and sadly they often get put down because many people don't want to adopt pits. I just hope and pray this dog is able to find a good home.

And that I get some normal neighbors.

  6. love your bright colors together!! when we were first married we lived in a tiny duplex (with thin walls) and the guys next to us just partied all the time. sometimes we would turn off our lights and just watch them outside. it was better than reality tv. but annoying to sleep next too!

  7. There's an elderly couple living next door to me currently. the husband is the sweetest man and helped me one day when my car wouldn't start. His wife, however, is a different story. I frequently hear here screaming at the top of her lungs in Spanish. The only words I can pick out are "el diablo." Should I be worried? I don't know. I also had neighbors that were running an extension cord from their apartment into another apartment.
Maybe you can figure out where they took the dog and feature the pup on your blog? Hopefully the dog will be on petfinder.

I LOVE the idea of featuring the dog on my blog. I first have to find out which shelter it'll be placed in. I PRAY it's a no kill shelter (thankfully most of the ones around here are no kill).

  8. That is so sad. I hope the dog finds a new owner that treats him right! I rescued my cats and have decided will only get my animals from shelters from now on! I had bad neighbors in our last apartment complex. Realllly bad, so I can sympathize. I hope it gets better!

  31. Geez! Sounds like drama for sure! When I lived in my apartment, my husband (boyfriend at the time) was dropping me off one night and we saw a car with a man sitting in it, parked right in front of the apartment. (My apartment was a 3 unit building. It was an old 2 story house that had been converted to apartments). Anyway, we could see that he had a laptop and we didn't know what he was up to. So me being the paranoid neighbor, I called the cops. They said they would send someone to check it out. Well, my boyfriend left and I was getting ready for bed and my phone rang. I answered it and a man said, "Yes, you called the cops about the man sitting out in his car?" I said "Yes." He said "I was that man sitting out there." CRAP! I was convinced he was going to come up and murder me. Then he proceeded to tell me that he was an undercover cop and he was doing a drug bust. Oh. Well I felt better that he wasn't going to kill me but I was a little freaked out that a drug bust was going down in my neighborhood!

  38. Drama! We've only had a few incident here. Once our neighbor's daughter was having a very loud, emotional midnight argument with her boyfriend. It was sad but slightly hilarious. My husband and I still quote lines from it sometimes... "But I f**king looooove you!" "Baby can we just go inside? Let's go inside." "Noooooo!"

  40. Omg! That's so sad! It's breaks my heart how people abuse their dogs. We were bike riding around the neighborhood last week, and we passed by this guy who was standing outside with his dog (a pit), and as we were getting close, the dog perked up. But the dog made no move to come chase us or anything, and his owner shouted his name, and that dog cowered like crazy! Like not in a normal way. It was so sad. :( Ugh, now I'm getting all emotional. LOL! I hope that dog can find a good home.

Anyway, love these colors together! Very springy and pretty! And I love that cute necklace!! <3

  44. oh, that just broke my heart a little. pit bulls are my favorite and you are so right that they get a bad rep. i've met many pits in my life and they've all been some of the sweetest, most good-natured dogs i've ever known. it's only humans that make pit bulls aggressive.

i'm completely disgusted that your trashy neighbor was beating his poor dog. i applaud your other neighbor for doing something about it. i hope that coward gets what he deserves and i hope even more that his pit gets adopted into a good home.
