Cute Elbows

A friend asked us if we wanted to go clubbing this weekend. It seems there's really only three reasons to go to a club:

1. Drink until vodka tastes like water.
2. Pick up the opposite sex with a cheesy line.
3. Get your dance on.

Since I'm not a frat boy, reason 1 is out. Thank goodness I am taken and I don't have to deal with cheeseballs anymore (reason #2). One time at a bar I was told I had "cute elbows". (Really?! That's my best feature?). So really the only reason to go is to dance...

Then I realized I can barely stay up past 10 pm and I'd much rather spend a Saturday night on the couch, in my pajamas, eating Cheez-Its out of the box while watching a Real Housewives marathon.

Do you like to go out or stay in?

  1. Well, I must say, you do have some really cute elbows :D haha, what a weird compliment!!

Love the white purse with the black/white stripes.

It depends on my mood, but I typically prefer staying in (with Cheez-Its of course!). Sometimes I like going out, but usually it's just to hang out with friends at a low-key bar somewhere.

    1. And this is why that guy was single! I hope he changed up his pick up lines. Low key outings are definitely more my style if I'm not hanging with the couch :)

  2. i LOVE the stripes. i think sometimes I'm a little obsessed with them :) haha
thanks for stopping by and leaving such sweet words -- it means the world to me!
as far as clubbing goes, I'm definitely more of a homebody as well! theres just nothing like it :D

so excited to see more posts!

  3. I've honestly never been clubbing before even when I was young. Now that I already have kids I don't even want to try it. I don't like loud noises or drinking anyways ;)

I really like the cobalt blue top with the stripe skirt - so chic! Hope you had a nice weekend my dear!

  4. I was never really into the clubbing thing...but I really love being social! I would SO much rather have a party at my house than go to a club. Hosting parties is the best (for me) because it's the best of both worlds...you get to see friends and drink and meet people...but then you get to be home and if you want to kick your shoes off you can...cuz it's your house!
On another note...I love that skirt! I just can't get enough stripes right now

    1. Little parties at home are pretty fun too! We just don't have the space for more than a few people in our apartment. One day it will be nice to have a house to entertain in!

  5. oh, I love both. They have both the downsides and advantages.. I love clubbing, I do not drink, but I just adore dancing with my friends. I hate that everybody go there just to chase after someone and drink till u don't remember anything. I also enjoy staying home, watching some serials, for example gossip girl, eat ice cream and just enjoy the moment.

I like this combination, it's beautiful. I adore the blue blouse and this awesome skirt. And again, how beautiful is ur smile!

    Love,
    Julie

  6. Too funny, that whole couch and housewife situation sounds like heaven to me! (although I might sub in goldfish for the cheeze-its) Its nice to go out and dance every once and a while but I love snuggling on the couch more!

  8. To go out or not, that really depends on my mood and energy level :). On some lazy weekends I can just stay in all day with the husband and would be totally happy just doing so. As I am growing older I am liking the more simple things in life.

  11. The older I get, the lamer I get! I love being at home with my guy and my dog. I think I got alot of my partying out in college and my early 20s when I lived in Chicago.

Don't get me wrong though - I love a girls' night out! Just not every weekend.

    1. I feel the same way, Leigh! I know I'm really lame but I'm okay with that. I also did a lot of partying in college so I think I've gotten it out of my system. A glass of wine is now my own personal party :)

  14. So I thought the point of this post was that the blazer would have a cute elbow patch :) haha! Clubs can be somewhat lame, depending on where you go. I generally wear a don't even bother trying to pick me up face that deters about 99.999999% of the male population...even when they're intoxicated. Yup i live a double life! HAHA.

  22. Haha I went to a club Saturday night to see my friend DJ. A creepy dude tried to talk to me and I couldn't hear him over the brain-bashing techno, and when I put my hand to my ear to mime "I can't hear you," he mocked me and laughed at me. What? Haha.

P.S. You DO have cute elbows. ;) Hahaha

I do try to go out when at all possible, but my "going out" is definitely different than it was in college! More like classy wine drink with my girlfriends, or trying new brews with my cutie.

  36. Hi Sharon,
I just wanted to say Hello and tell you that I imitated this outfit today. I got the skirt from F21. I had a royal blue dressy tank and black cardi. No white belt so I wore a fun black one. I got so many compliments today ALL THANKS to your creative touch!!! THANK YOU!!! Love your blog. Have a wonderful day!

  37. First off: very cute outfit. I have all the pieces to re-create this look, someday.

Your BAR story sounds so funny. Even-though you are a few years younger than me, just like you I prefer staying home to going out. Or when I go out, I would choose a small, cozy, not-too-loud, local bar over an over-priced, loud bar with music overload on my ears.
