Pink + Leopard

Mossimo V Neck Sweater, Vest-Mossimo (similar Mossimo Fur Hooded Vest), Scarf-Amazon (similar Leopard Scarf for $7.60), Pants-H&M Kids, Boots-Nordstrom (similar Steve Madden Intyce Boots)

A few weeks ago Target was having a sale on sweaters, buy one get one 50%. Living in the Northeast, you can really never have too many sweaters for the winter. I figured I might as well stock up now before the next polar vortex hits. This pink v-neck sweater wound up being just $16! I paired it with a leopard scarf and my Mossimo vest which I had purchased last year. (Target has a similar version this season of the tweed vest).

Kiss Instawave Automatic Curler Review

I was sent the Kiss Instawave Automatic Curler to review (retail $59.99). I was intrigued by this product since I hadn't seen anything like it before.

How It Works

1. After heating up the Instawave, you place a 1-2 inch strand of hair into one of the slots.

2. You press the button to catch your hair to automatically rotate it around the barrel. It has a right and left button so you can decide the direction of the curl.

3. After the hair is fully wrapped around, hold it in place for 3-10 seconds.

4. Pull the Instawave downwards to release the curl.

Pros: The Instawave heats up quickly and has two heat settings, low and high which goes up to 420 degrees. It has an automatic shutoff safety feature. It's easy to use and you're less likely to burn yourself as with a traditional curling iron.

Cons: My hair is thin and I had difficulty getting my hair to catch onto the barrel. It would often slip off and I'd have to try again. The curls were not as tight as I would've liked, despite using the high heat setting and holding in place for 10 seconds.

I would recommend the Instawave if you have thick hair and are looking for an easy, quicker way to curl your hair. If you have thin hair like me, you may have difficulty using the Instawave.

Please Note: A complimentary Kiss Instawave Automatic Curler was sent to me for review via Brandbacker. However, the opinions expressed in this post are solely mine.

Polka Dots + Plaid

Coat-Gap (similar Delia's Peacoat), Sweater-Lmae Boutique (similar Old Navy Polka Dot Sweater), Scarf-Scarves.net (similar Fraas Plaid Scarf for $18), Old Navy Rockstar Jeans, Hunter Original Kids Rainboot

Well, it seems like winter has come early this year. After it was in the 60s last week, it was in the 40s on the weekend and supposed to be even colder this week. Wah! I'm not ready for the cold weather! But then again, I don't think I'm ever quite prepared for it.

Today I'm remixing my polka dot sweater with a plaid scarf. Last season I wore it with a cargo vest and leopard scarf. The black and white pattern makes it easy to pair with all sorts of patterns.

Look What I Got: Old Navy Quilted Vest

Old Navy Girls Quilted Barn Vest, Tee-Old Navy, Scarf-Forever 21 (similar Lord & Taylor Tartan Plaid Scarf), Bag-Forever Tiff Couture (similar Rebecca Minkoff Bag), Bracelet-Sassy Steals (original Stella & Dot Renegade Cluster Bracelet), Old Navy Jeans, Boots-Nordstrom (similar Steve Madden Intyce Boots)

I saw this adorable girls' quilted vest on Old Navy's website. It was  30% off, for just $20. It reminded me of the very popular JCrew vests, but at a fraction of the price. It wasn't available in my size on the site, but it showed that they had it in my local store, so I headed over to try it on. I purchased the size XL, which fit comfortably and roomy enough for a sweater underneath. (It runs up to size XXL). It also comes in camo print but I decided to go with the classic navy.

Neon Yellow + Black Gingham

Sweatshirt-Target (similar Free Society Sweatshirt for $12), Shirt-Merona (similar JCrew Factory Gingham Shirt), Pants-H&M Kids, Flats-Gap Kids (similar Sam & Libby Bow Flats)

Random Wednesday Thoughts:

1. A while back when browsing Pinterest, I stumbled upon a pin of my exact neon yellow sweatshirt paired with a polka dot shirt underneath. This came in handy for one of those "I have nothing to wear" days. Since I don't have a polka dot blouse, I swapped it for a black gingham shirt instead.

2. I'm so bummed that the shows A to Z and Selfie got cancelled! It stinks getting really into a new program and then it's over with after only a couple of episodes. Oh well, more room on the DVR.

3. Apparently the "polar vortex" will be here over the next few days. Temps will only be in the 40s which is cold for this time of year, but that really doesn't seem like a polar vortex to me after last year's negative temps. Are we just using that term any time it gets cold now?!

Mix It Mondays: Leopard Cardigan

Cardigan-Target Girls (similar Alloy Leopard Cardigan for $19.99), Dress-Forever 21 (similar BB Dakota Black Dress), Booties-Target (similar Lux Clothing Booties), Bag-Botkier

Saturday I headed to the mall to pick up some new undies from Victoria's Secret. For some reason, it seems like my underwear is getting lost in the washer/dryer...I swear I lose a pair each week! (Don't even get me started on socks). So I figured I'd get new underwear instead of needing to do laundry every 4 days. To my surprise, the mall was totally packed. It looked like people were already getting a head start on their holiday shopping. Since it's only the beginning of November, I can only imagine what it'll be like after Thanksgiving. No parking, long lines...no thanks! I will now be avoiding the mall at all costs  till probably the end of January. Any shopping I do from here on out will be online!

Today I'm remixing my leopard print cardigan. I paired it with a LBD (little black dress), tights, and booties. I've also worn it with a striped tee and green skinny jeans

Mad for Red Buffalo Plaid

Aeropostale Boys Buffalo Plaid Shirt (similar Womens Old Navy Buffalo Plaid Shirt), Cardigan-JCrew via Poshmark, Necklace-Forever 21, Pants-H&M Kids, Boots-Naturalizer (similar Enzo Angiolini Boots), Bag-Coach

I went on a hunt to find a red buffalo plaid shirt, as I've been seeing them everywhere this year. (Who knew lumberjacks could be so chic? Paul Bunyan was onto something). So many were sold out in my size and I couldn't find one that wasn't ridiculously expensive. So, I decided to look in the boys section. I often buy from the girls section as a petite, but this was my first time browsing boys clothing. I stumbled upon this one from Aeropostale's boys line. I wasn't exactly sure what size to order, but thankfully the size 12 fit (it's a bit wider than expected but the smaller size wouldn't have fit my arms). It was originally $29.50 and I got it on sale for just $17!
