4th of July Outfit

Top-Jane.com (similar Boohoo Basic Oversized Tee), Jeans-H&M (similar LOFT Petite Skinny Jeans), Bag-H&M, Necklace-Luxe Craving (similar MixIt Red Statement Necklace)

With the 4th of July approaching, I wanted to put together a patriotic outfit. I own barely any red in my summer wardrobe, so it's a bit more of a challenge. Every year I tell myself I should buy some more red for the 4th and I never seem to get around to it! Luckily I have tons of blue pieces in my closet. I paired a longer length cobalt tee with white skinny jeans and added a red rhinestone statement necklace. I'll be celebrating the holiday by going to the beach during the day (fingers crossed for sunny weather) and seeing the fireworks at night from the boardwalk.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th!

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish Review

I kept seeing the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish in stores and I was curious about how well it worked. I love the look of gel polish from the salon, but I hated how hard it was to remove. So I finally decided to purchase the Miracle Gel and test it out. It promises "up to 14 days of color and shine" and no light is needed. I purchased it from Target and got the kit of a gel color (Pretty Piggy, a coral color) and the gel top coat ($14.99). The Miracle Gel top coat alone is $7.19 in Target.

Although Sally Hansen wants you to think otherwise, I'm here to tell you that the Miracle Gel top coat works over any polish. I used NYC in Preppy Pink. I applied two coats and then put on one coat of the Miracle Gel top coat. I noticed you have to be careful when applying the gel, or else it will pick up some of the color onto the brush. It seemed to take a little longer than regular polish to dry, but not too long. It dries to a nice, glossy finish.

Day 1:

Day 3: Tiny chip on my pointer finger, but it's barely noticeable.

Gel Day 6: Chipping on multiple nails (my other hand was worse). I decided this was time to remove it.

Removing it was just like regular nail polish. It didn't last as long as a salon gel manicure, but it lasted much longer than just regular polish. Six days is pretty good! For the price, it is definitely worth it!

The dress I'm wearing today is from The Mint Julep Boutique. I think it's the perfect floral dress for summer. I'm considering wearing it again on my birthday in a few weeks! The Mint Julep has the cutest dresses, tops, bottoms, jewelery, and shoes. If you're petite like me, note that they carry size XS. I've noticed many other online boutiques do not, which is something I love about their store! They also give the model's measurements, which is very helpful when you're shopping online and trying to find the right fit.

Now for the giveaway...The Mint Julep Boutique is giving away a $25 gift card to their store! (US readers only)

On Saturday I went to a blogger meetup at Laduree in Soho, famous for their macaroons. I've met up with this group of ladies a bunch of times now and I can say we've gone from blogging friends to real life friends! We feasted on omlettes, mimosas, and of course macaroons for dessert.

Mix It Mondays: Black Shorts

Top-c/o Choies (similar Boohoo Neon Peplum Top for $14), Necklace-Forever 21, Shorts-Rampage (similar Romwe Black Shorts), Sandals-Zara Girls, Clutch-Target (similar Style & Co Clutch)

As of yesterday, we have officially entered summer! It is my favorite season...I've got the beach, my birthday (in July), and lots of warm nights to look forward to. Summer also means hot temps so it's time to break out shorts. I styled this dressy black pair of shorts with a neon peplum top. (it photographed yellow but it's actually neon in person). Last year I wore these shorts casually with a white tee, denim vest, and Converse.

Summer LBD

Dress-Free People (similar Express Black Sundress), Necklace-Etsy (similar World Market Leaf Necklace), Sandals-Target (similar Enzo Angelini Embellished Sandals)

It's only the middle of June but it's already been hot and super humid here. On those days, I reach for a sundress. This one is the perfect LBD for summer. It can be styled a million different ways, but I decided to keep it simple with a leaf necklace and rhinestone sandals.
