Lilly Pulitzer For Target Maxi Dress

Maxi Dress-Lilly Pulitzer For Target (similar Shoptiques Print Maxi for $23), Clutch-Target (similar Lodis Clutch), Sandals-Zara Girls (similar Forever 21 Embellished Sandals for $17.90)

It has finally been warm enough for me to wear this Lilly Pulitzer for Target dress. I was at my local Target the day the collection was released, but I got there later than planned. Everything from the womens' section was already gone, so I headed to the girls' section. Someone put this dress back on the rack and I grabbed it! I wanted a shift dress, but this was the next best thing. It can be a challenge for me to find maxi dresses considering I'm so petite (alterations are always an option but it's a problem when you have to cut off half the dress)! I was pleasantly surprised that the length was nearly perfect on me.

Pineapple Print Under $40

Top Row: Hot Sox Pineapple Socks, Forever 21 Pineapple Crop Top (only $6.90!), Charlotte Russe Pineapple Print Romper

Bottom Row: Charlotte Russe Denim Pineapple Shorts, Boohoo Pineapple Print Skater Dress, Sonix iPhone Case

Pineapple print continues to be a big trend this season. It screams tropical vacay (even if you're not actually on one!). Last year I found the cutest pineapple print romper but it didn't fit me...whomp, whomp. This year I am determined to make up for it by adding something with the print to my closet. The print can be found on everything from socks to shorts...but I think my favorite is the adorable dress!

Jeweled Striped Top

Top-LOFT Outlet (similar Dillard's Jewel Neck Top), Ear Jackets-Forever 21 (similar Charlotte Russe Ear Jackets for $6), Old Navy Rockstar Jeans, Flats-Gap Kids (similar Mossimo Supply Co Flats), Bag-H&M

After a little blogging break, I am back! I took some time away because it was starting to feel more like a chore and less fun. It seemed like I had no time to devote to the blog (especially with all the different forms of social media to keep up on). It just overwhelmed me and I needed a break. I have been reading all of your blogs though (even though I don't always have the time to comment). Now that I'm back to blogging, I hope I can post regularly again.

Moving on to the outfit. I got this jeweled top at the LOFT outlet on the clearance rack reduced to $9.99. I am a sucker for anything embellished and at that price, I could not pass it up!

Gold Chain Bib Necklace

Jacket-Target (similar Aeropostale Faux Leather Jacket), Tee-Gap (similar Mango Outlet Tee), Necklace-Aliexpress, Old Navy Rockstar Jeans, Ankle Boots-Target Girls (similar Sam Edelman Ankle Boots)

After seeing this chain bib necklace on various bloggers, I knew I had to have it. I saw it on BaubleBar (the Courtney Bib Necklace) for a whopping $68 and thought, no way am I paying that much. So I scoured Aliexpress, which is my go-to for trendy jewelry/accessories on the cheap. After quite a bit of searching, I finally found THE necklace being sold for just $8!

Mix It Mondays: Leather Leggings

Shirt-Merona (similar Forever 21 Gingham Shirt for $19.90), Tee-Old Navy, Necklace-American Eagle, Leather Leggings-Groopdealz (similar BB Dakota Leather Leggings), Bag-H&M

The last few days have been mild and it finally feels like Spring! I've finally been able to wear some of my other pieces, like these leather leggings. I paired them with a black gingham shirt, worn open for a casual feel.

I previously wore the leather leggings with a bow tie blouse and cardigan sweater.

Pearl Jewelry

Pearl jewelry has long been a favorite among women. The simple elegance of a pearl, combined with the natural beauty it represents, makes this style of jewelry fit with almost any outfit at any event. Because of these factors, pearl is making a comeback. It's popularity has surged in recent years, causing many of the high-dollar jewelry stores to trade some of their gold and diamonds in favor of pearls.

However, it is important to know what to look for when purchasing. Pearl comes in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, and it is rarely the perfect off-white color you see in the movies. If you find a pearl that is perfectly round, but seems to be too inexpensive to be true, be careful – there's a good chance that it is fake.

Factors in Cost

The cost of a pearl can also be influenced by its luster, similarity, size, and even the style of the jewelry its in. The luster of a pearl refers to how clear and sharp reflections are on the surface of the pearl. Ideally, you'll want one with nearly a mirror image. Size is self explanatory; because pearls are naturally forming, the larger you find, the more valuable they will be. Similarity is how well the pearl matches a piece of jewelry it has been paired with. Finally, jewelry style is simple: necklaces are more valuable than rings, while a bracelet composed entirely of pearls might trump both.

Where to Find Pearl Jewelry

The majority of jewelry stores sell pearls; however, you can also purchase them directly from retailers, or go straight to the people who harvest pearls for later use in jewelry. Your best bet likely lies in using a certified retailer to find a pearl that suits what you're looking for; by eliminating the middle man, you can often cut down on the costs. Of course, this means you will need to invest in a way of polishing the pearl. There are multiple retailers on the web, including http://www.thepearlsource.com/pearl-necklace.php. Take the time to browse through the available selection and find an option that works for you. Numerous varieties of pearl are available, from Akoya to freshwater pearls.

On Sunday, I went to a blogger meetup at Talula's in Asbury Park hosted by Lori. We had quite a yummy brunch, feasting on ricotta and egg toasts,  pizza, and amazing apple cider donuts for dessert. It was wonderful to meet Lori, Reesa, and Clarissa! Blogging can feel like a second job sometimes and it was so nice to get advice from these ladies who also juggle it all. Lori even gifted all of us with matching Sira & Mara bracelets, which was so sweet of her!

Left to Right: Me, Reesa of Momma Lew, Lori of Jet Set Smart,  and Clarissa of Clarissa Nassar

These apple cider donuts were so amazing, I'm still thinking about them!
