Black & Blue

Blouse-Ann Taylor Outlet (similar Cooper & Ella Blouse), Necklace-Forever 21, Vest-c/o Sammydress (sold out, similar Choies Faux Fur Vest for $17), Pants-H&M Kids, Chinese Laundry Boots, Clutch-Target (similar Style & Co Snakeskin Clutch)

I realized last winter that I don't have that many dressy pieces for the cold weather. So this year, I've been looking for more to add to my wardrobe. I found this sheer navy blouse at the Ann Taylor outlet on mega sale on their clearance rack. It was marked $34.99 and was reduced to just $14.99. And it was petite sized as well! The outlet does have a nice petite section and I also spotted a bunch of petite items on clearance. I paired it with my faux fur vest and over the knee boots.

Lace Blouse

Lace Panel Blouse-c/o Choies, Old Navy Rockstar Jeans, Clutch-Ebay (similar La Regale Clutch), Booties-Target (similar Lux Clothing Booties)

Lately I've been drawn to clothing that has lace detailing on it. Lace is always so ladylike and sophisticated in my book. As soon as I saw this blouse, I knew I had to have it with the full lace sleeves. The color did look more beige online (a problem with online shopping), but I decided to keep it anyway. I'm picturing how great it would look with white jeans in the spring. But for now I styled it with a gold sparkly clutch and ripped jeans for some edge.

Today Christie from The Closet by Christie is taking over the blog with an adorable DIY dog costume for Halloween! She's also got an awesome giveaway for you!

Hi Everyone- I'm Christie of The Closet by Christie blog, your 9 to 5 style guide. It's a blog for the twenty-something woman that is beginning down the journey of developing a career, whether it be an internship or office job, and wants to incorporate their trendiness into everyday life on the job. While office wear is the focus, I love to incorporate all of my loves- style guides, style on a budget, dog fashion, and DIY projects... just to name a few! Show me some love! You can find me at- www.theclosetbychristie.com. Now, onto the guest post-

It's almost Halloween and if you're like me, you're wondering what your dog is going to be. Whether you are dressing your child, pet, or yourself- costumes are so expensive these days! Why not DIY using a few items from your local craft store or your own closet?

Last year, my dog Paisley was Minnie Mouse and I proudly DIY'ed her costume! Here's our DIY Guide for a Minnie Mouse Dog Costume!

diy-halloween-costume-ideas, diy-dog-halloween-costumes, dog-halloween-costume-ideas, halloween-costumes-for-my-havanese, how-to-make-minnie-mouse-ear-clips, disney-minnie-mouse-tutu-petsmart,

What You'll Need:
- Black Felt
- 2 Red Bows
- 2 Metal Clips
- a Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
- White Crayon or Silver Sharpie

Quick Tip: I bought all of the above mentioned items from my local Michael's craft store and likely cost under $10. They often have great coupons listed on their website. Check out their Deal's Page for coupons- among them is a 50% off any one item coupon!

Create mouse ear clips in just 4 easy steps!

1- Use your white or silver marker to draw a small circle. The size of the circle will vary based on the size of your dog.
2- Fold the felt sheet in half and cut along the line you stenciled. When you're finished, you'll have two identical felt circles!
3- Hot glue a red bow on the front of each felt circle, towards the bottom.
4- Once dry, hot glue a metal clip on the back of each felt circle. This should be placed exactly behind the red bow.

Now that the ears are complete, you're probably wondering about the skirt. I bought this adorable Minnie Mouse tutu at Petsmart last year. I waited until just a few days before Halloween to get it and they had already marked it down to $4! Here's a cute alternative for just $5 on Etsy- Red Dog Tutu.

And... voila!

Now for the giveaway! I'm giving away a $20 VISA Gift Card to one lucky reader!

Pumpkin Patch

Mossimo Supply Co Tunic Sweater, Scarf-Amazon (similar Leopard Scarf for $7.60), Leggings-Romeo & Juliet Couture, Boots-Nordstrom (similar Steve Madden Intyce Boots), Bag-Forever Tiff Couture (similar Candie's Quilted Crossbody Bag)

Yesterday the hubby and I went pumpkin picking. Apparently it was the very last day for pumpkins at the orchard. A lot of them sadly were rotted already, but luckily we were able to find a few good ones. After we got our pumpkins, we visited the bakery at the orchard. They make the most delicious apple cider donuts. There's always a long line, but it's totally worth the wait for fresh, hot donuts. Not ashamed to admit we almost polished off half a dozen before we even left, ha. They also have a huge selection of pies, so of course we couldn't leave without taking home a dutch apple pie too.

Today I'm remixing my Mossimo oversized sweater. I paired it this time with a leopard scarf and leggings (which were a good choice after eating all the donuts). I last wore it with jeans and booties.

Look What I Got: JCrew Factory Jeweled Necklace Tee

JCrew Factory Jeweled Necklace Tee, Shirt-Target (similar JCrew Factory Chambray Shirt), Old Navy Jeans, Boots-Nordstrom (similar Steve Madden Intyce Boots), Tote-c/o Massi

Ever since I saw Mindy Kailing wear this jeweled tee on The Mindy Project last season, I wanted it. I was drooling over it for quite some time and then I finally bit the bullet. JCrew Factory was having a 50% off sale for their birthday and I figured I couldn't get a better deal than that. Originally $62.50, I got it for $31!

Cobalt

Jacket-Mossimo (similar Calvin Klein Moto Jacket), Choies Crochet Lace Blouse (c/o), Pants-H&M Kids, Boots-Naturalizer (similar Enzo Angiolini Boots), Clutch-Vintage

A few months ago, I lost my cobalt blue blouse. I'm not exactly sure what happened to it, but it's definitely gone and I was bummed. Ever since, I've been looking for a replacement for it. I stumbled upon this crochet lace one from Choies and I knew it would be a perfect substitute. The detailing on it is so pretty! It's only $15.99 and also comes in a bunch of other colors (if cobalt isn't your thing).

Minted Review: Blogger Business Cards

I was looking for blogger business cards and stumbled upon Minted. (Yes, I know, it's about time I get myself business cards for the blog!). They have so many different styles of business cards from preppy, to monogrammed, to modern.

Minted also has foiled pressed business cards which make them extra special.

Which business cards did I choose? You'll have to wait and see! Minted also carries a wide variety of other products, such as day planners, calenders, stationery, and much more. It's basically a blogger's dream come true!

Please Note: I received a Minted credit in exchange for this post. However, the opinions expressed are solely mine.
