Look For Less: Taylor Swift Mint Dress

As soon as I saw that gorgeous mint dress on Taylor Swift, I knew I wanted to recreate it for less. I love the contrast of mint and magenta, a combination I never would've thought to put together. She accessorized with killer Christian Louboutin pumps (retail $945!), a Lulu Frost initial necklace ($360), and a Tod's satchel that comes in at a whopping $1,974! I don't know the cost of the dress, but I estimate her entire look to be at least 4K!

I recreated the look for less with a Dorothy Perkins dress that's just $35. My look comes in at under $400 total, since we don't all have T Swift's bank account. A girl can dream!

Mix It Mondays: Floral Skirt

Jacket-Old Navy (similar Merona Denim Jacket), Tank-Express (similar Old Navy Tank), Necklace-Eliza Jay Charm (similar Moon and Lola Monogram Necklace), Skirt-Target (similar Floral Skirt for $10), Sandals-American Eagle (similar Fergalicious White Sandal)

Today I'm remixing my floral skirt that I got from Target last year on clearance. They must've purchased a ton of this floral fabric since they made the print into a dress, pants, top, and even a crossbody bag. It seems a ton of bloggers have the print in one form or another! This time I paired it with my denim jacket, a pink tank top, and a monogram necklace. I've also worn it with a blue stripe tank top for some pattern mixing.

Friday's Fancies: Summer Nights

Dorothy Perkins Pink Maxi Dress (only $14!), Femme Couture Clutch, Steve Madden Koryy Sandal, BaubleBar Tassel Lariat Necklace, Fornash Starfish Bangle

Ahh, summer nights. I love that sunset is so late in the summer and we have lots of extra daylight to go out! This pink maxi dress outfit is what I'd wear for a summer date night, whether it's out to dinner, having a glass of wine on the porch, or even to play mini golf (ditch the clutch to keep your hands free)! Maxis are so incredibly comfy, yet they're easy to dress up with a pair of gold sandals and a few simple pieces of jewelry. Plus they're nice and breezy which works well in the heat. Easy peasy outfit!

What's your go-to outfit for a summer night?

Double Bows

Tank-A&F (similar Forever 21 Floral Tank), Necklace-Brighthouse Baubles (similar Mint Beaded Necklace), Old Navy Rockstar Jeans, Flats-Gap Outlet (similar Sam & Libby Bow Flats), Clutch-HanMadeThings on Etsy

The other day I was having one of those days when you hate everything in your closet. I tried on outfit after outfit and just wasn't happy with the way anything looked. I was about to have a meltdown and then I thought, hey I haven't worn my bow clutch in a while. I paired it with my bow flats and boom, a new outfit was born. I'm going to take this as a sign that I need to go shopping asap to remedy my lack of inspiration.

Yay or Nay: Overalls Outfit

H&M Overall Shorts ($29.95), Ray Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses, Modcloth Polka Dot Tank, Converse Chuck Taylor Sneakers

When overalls first came back in this season, I vowed never to be caught dead in them. I wore overalls like crazy in 7th grade with a flannel shirt and I know that wasn't my best look. But I have to admit that they are growing on me. After all, they are similar to rompers and we all know I love a good romper! Instead of rushing out to buy this trend, I am trying it out with the collage. Knowing myself, I will go back and forth and by the time I decide to get them, they'll be out of style again.

Overalls, Yay or Nay in your opinion?

Birthday Girl

Dress-Nordstrom (similar Forever 21 Skater Dress for $19.80) , Necklace-INPINK (similar Forever 21 Bead Necklace), Bracelet-INPINK (similar Punch Cuff Bracelet for $14.99), Clutch-Ebay (similar Kate Landry Sequin Clutch), Sandals-Target (similar JCrew Marina Sandal)

It's my birthday today! I decided to wear this brightly colored coral dress since it's fun and it makes me feel fabulous (everyone should feel fabulous on their birthday, right?). I'll be at work as per usual today so I don't have anything special planned. (Next year I vow to take the day off!). My present to myself was my DSLR, which I'm loving. Of course I'm mainly using it for my blog, but it's nice just having a camera that takes such crisp, clear photos!

Mix It Mondays: Lace Peplum Tank

Vest-Decree (similar Velvet Cargo Vest), Top-Aeropostale (similar Nicole Miller Lace Peplum Tank), Shorts-American Eagle (similar American Eagle Denim Shorts), Sandals-American Eagle (similar Fergalicious Sandals), Bag-H&M (similar Forever 21 Satchel), Watch-Fossil (similar Fossil Perfect Boyfriend Watch), Gold Initial Bracelet

While I love living at the beach, one of the drawbacks is that it's extremely crowded here on weekends in the summer. I usually take all my blog photos on the weekend, which means it's now really hard to find a quiet spot. I figured the nearby beach town of Spring Lake would be empty by the lake on this cloudy day. Nooope, I pulled up and saw a bridal party taking wedding photos. Thankfully the lake is pretty big and this bridge was free (minus a few people bicycling by).

Today I'm remixing my white lace peplum tank. I decided to toughen it up by pairing it with my go-to cargo vest. I last wore it with a yellow cardigan and bright statement necklace in the spring.
